Material Overview

### Foam Density (The First Question Buyers Ask)
Most buyers start with one concern: **“Will the mattress feel right and last long enough?”**
Foam density is the foundation of that answer.

We offer foam density options of:
– **28 / 30 / 32 / 35 / 40 density**

In real bulk orders, **30–32 density is the most commonly selected**, because it balances **support, comfort, and cost efficiency** for mainstream markets.

### Foam Firmness Levels (How Comfort Is Really Defined)
Many buyers think firmness is subjective. In reality, it follows clear standards.

Foam firmness levels include:
– **Ultra Soft**
– **Soft**
– **Medium Soft**
– **Medium**
– **Medium Firm**
– **Firm**
– **Extra Firm**

This range allows us to **fine-tune comfort without changing the foam structure**, which is important for consistent large-volume production.

### Foam Shapes (What Matters vs. What Doesn’t)
Foam shape affects pressure distribution, but not all shapes perform equally.

Available shapes:
– **Egg-crate foam**
– **S-shape foam**
– **Lower-performance foam structures**

From a performance standpoint, **egg-crate and S-shape foams are preferred**, as they improve airflow and pressure relief. Lower-performance structures are available but generally avoided in quality-focused programs.

### Latex Options (Natural Content Makes the Difference)
Latex is often misunderstood as a single material.

We offer:
– **Natural latex**
– **Blended latex with different natural content ratios**

Higher natural latex content delivers **better elasticity and durability**, but also increases cost. We help buyers choose the **right balance based on their price position**.

### Memory Foam Density (Support with Pressure Relief)
Memory foam density directly affects **response speed and body support**.

Available memory foam densities:
– **35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 60 / 80**

For most commercial mattress programs, **40–50 density is the most practical range**, offering stable support without excessive cost.

### Foam Firmness Testing (Measured, Not Guessed)
We use a **foam hardness tester** to ensure consistency.

Common firmness test values:
– **40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 100**

This allows us to **match comfort precisely**, even when different densities are used.

### Density vs. Firmness – How Buyers Should Match Them
This is where many suppliers explain poorly. We make it clear.

– When **foam density is 32** and the buyer wants a **firm feel**,
the corresponding firmness should be **70–80**.

– When **foam density is 30** and the buyer wants **medium-firm comfort**,
the corresponding firmness should be **50–60**.

This matching ensures the mattress **feels right in real use**, not just on paper.

### Fire Resistance Standards (Quick Recap for Foam Systems)
**UK Standard Fire Resistance**:
– Cannot be ignited by a lighter
– Three levels: **high / medium / low**

**US Standard Fire Resistance**:
– Can be ignited by a lighter
– Flame does **not spread**
– Self-extinguishes within **5 seconds** after the lighter is removed

### BS7177 Certification – What You Actually Need
Buyers often over-specify fire standards and increase costs unnecessarily.

– **Europe (EU)**: Fire resistance is **not required**
– **United Kingdom**: Fire resistance **is required**
– Fire-resistant versions cost **USD 6–8 more** than non-fire-resistant
– Europe **does not require fire labels**

In practice:
– We **normally produce US standard low-level fire resistance**
– **UK standard fire resistance is also available** when required

This approach keeps your mattress **market-compliant without inflating unit cost**.
